| Ryan Mattheus out 4-6 weeks with broken hand |

(5/24/13) Nationals reliever Ryan Mattheus' broken hand will force him to miss 4-6 weeks, the Washington Times reports.
Mattheus slammed his right (pitching) hand into his locker after Sunday's game against San Diego. The fracture will not require surgery but because he won't be able to move his pitching hand, the work required to get his arm back in shape will force him to miss at least a month.

(5/21/13) Nationals reliever Ryan Mattheus is expected to miss several weeks with a fractured right hand after he slammed it into his locker following Sunday's game at San Diego, according to MLB.com. Mattheus was placed on the 15-day DL Tuesday.

(6/17/12) The Nationals brought reliever Ryan Mattheus (foot) off the 15-day DL on Sunday, but had to designate reliever Brad Lidge for assignment to clear a roster spot. "The 14-inning game forced us to make a roster move," general manager Mike Rizzo said. "He wasn't performing well and Mattheus is ready. (Lidge) handled it like the pro that he is."
