Fantasy Analysis
This comes as no surprise after Presley lost his starting job in left field because of a poor offensive start. Now, he will get the chance to play every day in the minors and hopefully get his offensive game on track. There's no need to hold onto Presley in Fantasy formats if you need the roster spot. After batting .336 with eight home runs and 18 stolen bases for Triple-A Indianapolis, Alex Presley received the call to the majors in late June last season and continued to impress with the bat. He would hit .333 with a .494 slugging percentage over his first 20 games for the Pirates before a left hand contusion landed him on the DL. He returned in late August and posted a .276 average over his final 32 games. With four homers, 20 RBI and nine stolen bases in 215 at-bats last season, Presley will complete for the starting job in left field this spring and appears to be the favorite over Nate McLouth. Presley has shown he can hit for average and his .465 slugging percentage in 2011 shows that he has some budding power. Consider the 26-year-old a viable option in NL-only and deeper leagues on Draft Day. (Updated 1/12/12)
