Fantasy Analysis
With his solid spring, Robinson appeared to launch himself into the competition for a spot in the outfield, but the Mariners decided he would receive more at-bats in the minors. Robinson collected a hit in six of his eight Cactus League appearances and could return to Seattle at some point this season. He is the only player among the group worthy of tracking in long-term Fantasy keeper leagues. (Updated 03/17/2012).
02/23/2012 10:11 M's camp report: Likes and dislikes
Scott Miller notes what he likes and dislikes about the Mariners heading into the season.
Trayvon Robinson was traded from the Dodgers to the Mariners at the deadline last season and after hitting a combined .289 with 26 homers, 71 RBI and nine stolen bases between two minor-league clubs, he received the call to the majors in early August. He would become essentially the everyday left fielder for Seattle down the stretch and showed some flashes of being a viable Fantasy option. While he finished with just a .210 average in 44 games, he hit two homers with 14 RBI and a .336 slugging percentage. He also played some solid defense and should be in the mix for a starting job in 2012. He will have to adjust to major league pitching if he plans on sticking around, but the 24-year-old has a ton of upside and will be surrounded by some young talent in Seattle. Keep an eye on how he does during spring training and plan on taking Robinson in AL-only formats on Draft Day. (Updated 2/13/12)
