Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson hurls six shutout innings
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(7/26/15) Diamondbacks starter Jeremy Hellickson has been pitching well for a while, but he did something Sunday he had not done all year. That is, he blanked his opponent during his stint on the mound.
Hellickson shut out Milwaukee on four hits in six innings with three walks and six strikeouts. He retired the side in order only twice, but worked out of two-runner jams in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings.
He has surrendered just five runs in his last 24 innings pitched to shrink his ERA to 4.60, its lowest point since April 19.

|(7/22/15) Despite producing a quality start Tuesday, Diamondbacks pitcher Jeremy Hellickson was on the losing end of the 3-0 loss to the Marlins.
Hellickson allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings of work. He also struck out six and did not walk a batter. His biggest mistake was giving up a solo home run to Michael Morse in the seventh inning.
Hellickson has allowed a total of five runs over his last 18 innings of work.
Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson good to go on Tuesday

|(7/21/15) Diamondbacks right-hander Jeremy Hellickson has been cleared to make his start against the Marlins on Tuesday. Hellickson hasn't pitched since leaving his last start on July 8 with a blister.
But the issue seems to be cleared up and Hellickson is set to take the mound on Tuesday. Hellickson has had some poor results lately, posting a 5.03 ERA over his last five starts (excluding that July 8 outing).
D-Backs push back Hellickson's next start, announce post-break plans
|by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com|
|(7/12/15) The Diamondbacks pushed back pitcher Jeremy Hellickson's next start to July 21, reports MLB.com. Hellickson has a blister on his right thumb, but he was able to throw a bullpen session Sunday.
With Hellickson having his start moved back, the team will open the second half of the season with Robbie Ray on Friday against the Giants. He will be followed by Chase Anderson, Patrick Corbin, Rubby De La Rosa and Hellickson.
Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson hopes to avoid DL
|by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer|
|(7/10/15) Diamondbacks starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson is hopeful a blister on his thumb won't land him on the disabled list, per MLB.com.
"I threw today with the band-aid on it," Hellickson said. "It felt fine. I've never had one there. They're usually here and they're usually a little smaller, and it's usually a week at the most. If I had to say right now, I'd definitely think I'd probably be all right."
Hellickson is not scheduled to pitch before the All-Star break, giving him more time to rehab his injury.
|2014 summary: Jeremy Hellickson's season didn't get started until July, as he spent the first three months recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow. When he finally joined the Rays' rotation, Hellickson didn't often pitch deep into games, but he performed well initially. He had a 2.61 ERA through his first seven starts, but the one-time American League Rookie of the Year saw his season turn sour, as he posted a 7.36 ERA over his final six starts. Despite receiving nearly five runs of support per nine innings, Hellickson finished with a 1-5 record. He will look to rebound with the Diamondbacks, who acquired him in a November trade.|
Playing time status: Efficiency hasn't been Hellickson's strong suit in recent seasons, but he should get steady starts as a member of the Diamondbacks' rotation.
2015 outlook: Hellickson's flyball-leaning ways will probably serve him less well in Arizona than they did in Tampa Bay, and that's not good news for a pitcher whose ERA has been above 4.50 in each of the last two seasons. He can be ignored in standard mixed leagues, but he's not a bad gamble late in deeper mixed leagues.
