Fantasy Analysis
This is not unexpected. Huff was always slated to begin the year in the minors. He could rejoin the Indians rotation at some point this season, but he doesn't have the upside to warrant using a bench spot in your Fantasy lineup. (Updated 04/22/2012).
David Huff ended the 2011 season in the Indians' starting rotation. However, he might not open the 2012 campaign with the same role. Huff struggled down the stretch for Cleveland and posted a lowly 6.20 ERA in five starts last September. The left-hander is now currently among a handful of candidates who are expected to compete for one of the last remaining spots in the Indians' rotation during spring training. Huff was productive once he joined the rotation in July and permitted just six total earned runs over his first five starts. However, he was tripped up in September and lost four of his last five starts, while finishing with a 4.09 ERA for the season. Without a secured spot in the rotation, Huff is shaping up to be at best an AL-only Fantasy reserve on Draft Day and likely can go undrafted in most leagues. (Updated 2/13/12)
