(5/13/13) The Indians recalled pitcher David Huff from Triple-A Columbus for Monday's doubleheader against the Yankees, according to WTAM 1100. Huff was 3-1 with a 4.07 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in nine outings (two starts) for Columbus.

(4/2/13) The Indians outrighted pitcher David Huff to Triple-A Columbus after he successfully cleared waivers. Huff was designated for assignment on Sunday after he failed to claim a spot in the starting rotation during spring training.

(3/31/13) The Indians designated pitcher David Huff for assignment to open space on the 40-man roster Sunday, reports MLB.com.
The 28-year-old Huff went 1-1 this spring with a 5.82 ERA over 17 innings with 15 strikeouts. He went 3-1 with a 3.38 ERA over six appearances and four starts for the Tribe last season.

(3/10/13) Indians manager Terry Francona informed reporters Sunday pitcher David Huff is no longer competing for a spot in the rotation. He's now only vying for a spot in the bullpen.

| David Huff appeared in six games for Cleveland in 2012, going 3-1 with a 3.38 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. Of the 10 earned runs he gave up, all came when Huff was starting (he had two scoreless appearances as a reliever). Huff had decent minor league numbers (3.76 ERA, 1.25 WHIP), but doesn't have overpowering strikeout numbers and looks to be squeezed out of the rotation for 2013. The 28-year-old lefty has no Fantasy value at this time. (Updated 1/4/13) |
