Phillies OF Ben Revere's ankle pain-free
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(12/6/14) Phillies outfielder Ben Revere said Saturday that he's finally pain-free after dealing with an ankle injury all season, MLB.com reports.
"I feel no pain," he said. "I've been running and cutting. No pain. I feel good. It slowed me up definitely. Some jumps after the ball I hesitated because of it. I knew it was there. Some bases I tried to steal, running down the line I'd slow down, hitting, trying to get out of the box, diving for a ball. It was tough. It was so frustrating."
Revere broke his ankle in July 2013 and played with screws in the ankle in 2014, resulting in a frequent pained expression on his face throughout the season. He had the screws removed at the end of September and believes he can improve on his statistics next season. Revere hit .306/.325/.361 with two home runs, 28 RBI and 49 stolen bases in 601 at-bats in 2014.
Report: Phillies to offer contracts to Brown, Bastardo, Revere
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(12/1/14) The Phillies are expected to offer contracts to Domonic Brown, Antonio Bastardo and Ben Revere, according to MLB.com
All three players are eligible for salary arbitration. The team has until 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday to extend an offer to the group. If the Phillies do not offer a contract to these players, they would become free agents. All three players are expected to play a role on the club in 2015, so keeping them around shouldn't come as a surprise.

|(10/1/14) The Phillies announced Wednesday outfielder Ben Revere had surgery Tuesday to remove screws from his right ankle. Revere will be in a walking boot for about two weeks, but he is expected to be ready for the start of spring training.
Ben Revere comes up big late in win
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(9/6/14) The Phillies got a rare boost from outfielder Ben Revere Friday, in a 9-8 win over the Nationals.
Revere clubbed his second home run of the season and his career in the ninth inning, to complete a comeback that sent the game into extras. He drove in one more run in the 11th inning, finishing with three RBI while going 3 for 5 overall in the win.
Revere had just 15 RBI on the season five games ago, but has eight driven in over his last four games. He is not hitting .316/.335/.379 in 512 at-bats overall, to lead the National League in batting average.
Ben Revere smacks four hits to help Phillies beat Nationals
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(8/1/14) Phillies center fielder and leadoff hitter Ben Revere went from hot to hotter Thursday in Washington.
Revere slapped four singles, scored twice and drove in a run in a rout of the Nationals. He has 17 hits in his last 40 at-bats and has hit safely in eight of nine games to sweeten his stat line to .306/.326/.366.
|2014 summary: Having missed the latter half of the 2013 season with a fractured foot, Ben Revere didn't miss a step in his 2014 comeback, even though he was still dealing with pain in his ankle. The speedy outfielder set career highs with 49 stolen bases and 71 runs scored in his second season with the Phillies. Though Revere once again provided virtually no power, he still ranked among the top 20 outfielders in Rotisserie value and top 30 outfielders in Fantasy points.|
Playing time status: Last season, Revere exceeded 150 games for the first time in his five-year career. He had screws removed from his ankle in September, and if that removes some of his discomfort, he could play in even more games this season.
2015 outlook: Revere is a three-category contributor (stolen bases, batting average and runs) in Rotisserie leagues, and in points leagues, he helps out with a low strikeout rate, and that's enough for him to repeat as a top 30 outfielder in both formats. He is a middle-round option for owners in Roto leagues, while owners in three-outfielder points leagues can wait until the very late rounds to pick Revere.
