Zavada lands with Cardinals: The St. Louis Cardinals signed relief pitcher Clay Zavada to a minor-league contract on Friday. Zavada was released by Cincinnati during spring training after failing to make the team's bullpen. He has not appeared in the majors since 2009 with Arizona. (Updated 05/18/2012)
