(5/20/13) Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Monday that he is unsure who will start Friday against Detroit, MLB.com reports.
Gardenhire said it will either be Kyle Gibson, P.J. Walters or Samuel Deduno to make the start.
Gibson has been dominant in the minors lately but Walters and Deduno have more major league experience at this time.

(5/5/13) Twins pitcher Sam Deduno made his return from the minor-league disabled list and threw five innings with one run allowed for Triple-A Rochester on Sunday.
Deduno struck out four against four walks. The run was unearned. Expect Deduno to be near the top of the list of starting pitching callups for Minnesota.

(4/25/13) Twins starting pitcher Samuel Deduno pitched in extended spring training Thursday as he continues to recover from a groin injury. Deduno threw 50 pitches in the outing, and does not appear to have suffered any sort of setback.
The team does not have a timeline for Deduno's return, however he was optioned to minor-league camp in spring training and will likely not be called up to the majors, even when healthy.

(4/9/13) Twins pitcher Samuel Deduno, who is dealing with a groin injury, continues to make slow progress in Ft. Myers, Fla. He is expected to throw a live batting practice session Friday, according to the Star Tribune.
Deduno, who was limited to one appearance in Grapefruit League play, went 6-5 with a 4.44 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP in 15 starts last season for the Twins.
Sabathia strong as Yanks top Twins
CC Sabathia struck out 10 batters over eight innings for New York to help the Yankees stretch their AL East lead to two games over Baltimore by beating the Minnesota Twins 8-2 on Wednesday.
Playoff Snapshot: AL Central race reset
With a week left in the season, the White Sox and Tigers are tied atop the American League Central, while the National League wild card race seems to be all but sewn up.
Cabrera homers in Tigers' win
Miguel Cabrera hit his 42nd homer, putting him in Triple Crown position, and Doug Fister pitched his first career shutout to help the Detroit Tigers beat Minnesota 8-0 Saturday, keeping their hopes high in the AL Central race.
Liriano flirts with no-no; White Sox win
Francisco Liriano took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, Paul Konerko homered and drove in three runs Saturday, and the Chicago White Sox stayed on top of the AL Central with a 5-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins.
|The Twins didn't turn to Samuel Deduno until they had already burned through three or four other options for their starting rotation, but when they finally gave him a shot in July, he delivered solid numbers until about mid-September, when he allowed 11 earned runs over his final seven innings. On the one hand, you could say he was getting by on smoke and mirrors, but on the other hand, he posted a 2.14 ERA (with more than a strikeout per inning) in nine starts at Triple-A Rochester before getting the call. Granted, no one would mistake him for an emerging ace, but maybe he's good enough to stick around in the majors. Of course, he won't be able to sustain an ERA below 4.50 if he continues to walk 6.0 batters per nine innings like he did last year, so Fantasy owners would probably be wise to avoid Deduno on Draft Day. He could end up having some AL-only appeal if he wins a rotation spot in spring training, though. (Updated 1/8/13)|
