| Christian Garcia to join Double-A Harrisburg this weekend |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (6:04 pm ET) Nationals pitcher Christian Garcia, who is working his way back from a partially torn tendon in his forearm, is expected to join Double-A Harrisburg this weekend, according to MLB.com. Garcia will be used as a reliever in the minors.

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com (5/8/13) Nationals pitcher Christian Garcia, who has missed the season with a partially torn tendon in his forearm, is throwing off a mound in Viera, Fla., The Washington Post reports. The Nationals plan to stretch him out as a starting pitcher.
"The plan hasn’t changed since spring training," general manager Mike Rizzo told the Post. "He’s just beginning spring training now. He’s on the mound. He’s throwing fastballs. It will take a couple days. It’s still his spring training ramp-up."
Garcia should be ready to join a minor-league team by late May or early June.

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (4/20/13) Nationals manager Davey Johnson told MLB.com that reliever Christian Garcia is doing well in his recovery from strained tendon in his right forearm, but he has yet to throw off a mound.
Garcia has been out since the spring due to the injury, and has been doing long toss for more than two weeks without progressing to the mound. The team does not have a timeline for his return, but there was speculation in spring training that the team hopes he can stretch out as a starter once healed.

Garcia has been sitting out with a partially torn tendon in his forearm. It was the first time he's thrown in a month and a half. Garcia hopes to rejoin the team near the end of the month. The Nationals would like him to be stretched out as a starter.

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (4/4/13) Nationals pitcher Christian Garcia (forearm) threw from 60 feet Wednesday, according to The Washington Post. Garcia will report to the team's spring complex in Florida Friday.
Garcia was cleared to throw for the first time in more than a month. Garcia hopes to be back on the mound by the end of the month. The plan is for the Nationals to stretch out Garcia as a starter once he's healthy.
"It feels great," Garcia said of right forearm.
