| LeCure blows first save |

(8/24/12) Reds reliever Sam LeCure blew his first save of the season during Thursday's contest against the Phillies. LeCure relieved Sean Marshall in the eighth inning with a runner on before he surrendered a sacrifice fly to Jimmy Rollins to tie the game at 3-3. He allowed two hits and struck out one in just one-third of an inning in a 4-3 defeat in extra innings.

| Projected as a long reliever/emergency starter for the Reds in 2013, Sam LeCure put together a nice 48-game performance for the Reds in 2012, with a 3.14 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 57 1/3 innings. He also struck out about a batter per inning and gave up just three home runs. He may have some value in deep NL-only daily leagues for owners looking to fill spots with low-ERA/WHIP, high-K relievers. (Updated 12/12/12) |
