Fantasy Analysis
Sosa was dealt to Houston back in August and immediately thrust into the team's starting rotation. He ended up making 10 starts for Houston and finished up the regular season going 3-5 with a 5.23 ERA over that stretch. However, it remains unknown whether or not he will have a spot in the team's starting rotation next season. The Astros have a ton of young talent -- especially starting pitchers -- who could ultimately fill all of the rotation spots. Keep an eye on how he will be used next season in Houston. Even if he does end up starting, his value would be limited to NL-only formats heading into 2012. (Updated 09/27/2011).

The St. Louis Cardinals are tied with Atlanta for the NL wild-card lead, getting a clutch two-run triple from Ryan Theriot in the seventh inning of a 13-6 victory over the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.
Henry Sosa got his first taste of the majors in 2011 but showed that he was not quite ready. After being traded from the Giants in July, he joined the rotation for the Astros in mid-August and went 3-5 with a 5.23 ERA in 10 starts. The 26-year-old has had a couple of decent seasons in the minors but is not considered a top prospect. He is expected to complete for a spot in the rotation during the spring and there have even been rumors about him being considered for the closer's role as well. He would have the most value if he's pitching in the ninth inning but given his outlook, leave Sosa for deeper NL-only formats on Draft Day. (Updated 1/9/12)
