(5/14/13) The Marlins optioned catcher Kyle Skipworth to Triple-A New Orleans Monday. Skipworth appeared in four games, going 0 for 3 with one walk and one strikeout.
He was optioned to the minors to clear a roster spot for Jeff Mathis.

(5/11/13) The Marlins are expected to send catcher Kyle Skipworth back down to Triple-A once Jeff Mathis is ready to return from the disabled list.
Mathis is aiming to return Tuesday night against the Reds.
Skipworth has gone 0 for 2 with a walk through his first three plate appearances in the majors. He hit .143 with two RBI in the minors before getting called up.

(5/5/13) The Marlins promoted catcher Kyle Skipworth from Triple-A New Orleans on Sunday to fill the roster spot vacated by Austin Kearns after he was placed on the bereavement list. Skipworth, who appeared in three games for Miami earlier this season, was hitting just .143 with two RBI in five outings at New Orleans.

(4/5/13) Marlins catcher Kyle Skipworth has been called up to the majors.
Skipworth will replace Casey Kotchman on the roster. Kotchman was placed on the 15-day disabled list after straining his hamstring. Skipworth could see some time at first with Kotchman out.
