Hood showing improvement : Nationals manager Davey Johnson told MLB.com on Friday that outfielder Destin Hood has been the most improved player in camp thus far. Hood batted .276 with 13 homers, 83 RBI and 21stolen bases for Class A Potomac last season. "He has really honed his baseball instincts. I probably put him in the improved category along with Michael Taylor," Johnson said. "If you asked me to grade the improvement of guys when I first saw them. Hood is the most improved followed by Michael Taylor." (Updated 03/02/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Hood is expected to begin the season at Double-A Harrisburg but it always bodes well when the manager notices a players improvement. The 21-year-old displayed some decent power and speed last season and is worth keeping an eye on in Fantasy. Hood holds some low-end appeal in long-term Fantasy formats as he is likely a year or two away from making an impact in the majors. (Updated 03/02/2012).
