(7/7/14) The Athletics designated pitcher Brad Mills for assignment. He went 1-1 with a 4.41 ERA in three starts, but is no longer needed thanks to Oakland's acquisition of Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel.

(7/5/14) Athletics pitcher Jesse Chavez will stay in the rotation as the fifth starter, edging out Brad Mills, who will move to the bullpen for now, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area reports Saturday.
The A's acquired starters Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel via trade on Friday. Chavez will make his next scheduled start on Monday against San Francisco.

(7/2/14) Athletics pitcher Brad Mills tossed his second quality start in a row Tuesday, but had nothing to show for it in a 3-0 loss to the Tigers.
Mills allowed three runs over six innings of work in the loss, while scattering six hits. He allowed one home run and walked three batters, while also striking out six on 100 pitches.
Mills fell to 1-1 in his third start, while his ERA rose slightly to 4.41 in 16 1/3 innings. His next start is set for Sunday against the Blue Jays.

(6/25/14) Athletics pitcher Brad Mills earned his first win Wednesday, giving up three earned runs on nine hits in 6 1/3 innings while striking out four in his team's 8-5 victory over the Mets.
Mills (1-0) blew through six scoreless innings and took an 8-0 lead into the seventh, where he surrendered a three-run home run to ruin the scoreless performance. He owns a 4.35 ERA and 8:4 K:BB ratio in 10 1/3 innings through two starts. Mills is slated to face the Tigers Tuesday.

(6/22/14) Athletics manager Bob Melvin announced Sunday he has shuffled the rotation after deciding to give starting pitcher Sonny Gray a few extra days to rest with off-days Monday and Thursday. The right-handed hurler has been pushed back to Saturday against the Marlins.
Scott Kazmir will now start Tuesday against the Mets and he will be followed by Brad Mills in the two-game series.
Jesse Chavez, who was scheduled to start Saturday, has been moved up to Friday against Miami. Tommy Milone, who started Sunday against the Red Sox, will then finish off the Marlins series next Sunday.
