Gillies looking healthy in AFL: Phillies minor-league OF Tyson Gillies, who has played in only 31 games over the last two seasons (including three in 2011) because of hamstring and foot injuries, is up to 13 in the Arizona Fall League. He's batting .205 (8 for 39) with two doubles, one home run and four RBI during that stretch. "We're less concerned about the numbers as we are about his health," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. told MLB.com. "He's rusty at the plate. He hasn't played in a long time." Fantasy Analysis
Other than the numbers, the Phillies like what they're seeing from Gillies. "His speed, his outfield play are good," Amaro said. "It's just good for him to be playing. The fact that he looks healthy right now and he's running real well, that's certainly a plus. Certainly, this is a very big year for him coming up." Gillies was one of the key pieces in the deal that sent Cliff Lee to Seattle before the 2010 season. He has a Shane Victorino-like skill set, but obviously, he's a little behind right now. Until he regains some of his luster as a prospect, you can ignore him in all but deeper long-term keeper leagues. (Updated 10/27/2011).
