Schafer a long shot in center field: The Sports Xchange reports OFs Nyjer Morgan and Carlos Gomez appear set to return for the Brewers in a platoon in center field that worked so well in 2011. That would seem to leave no room for center field prospect Logan Schafer, whom club executives really like, but he will get a good look in spring training to show what he can do. (Updated 01/08/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Schafer is a .301 career hitter in the minors. He also has a .363 OBP and .790 OPS. He is a good contact hitter and can get on base, but it's probably his defense that is his strongest area. He doesn't hit for much power and has moderate speed on the base paths, so he remains a low-end long-term Fantasy keeper. (Updated 01/08/2012).
