| Slow spring costs Tony Campana |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (3/30/13) Even with a number of injuries lingering in the Diamondbacks outfield, they announced Friday that outfielder Tony Campana will not break camp with the team. Campana, acquired in February from the Cubs via trade, will be sent to Triple-A Reno to begin the year.
Campana's poor play in the spring likely doomed him, as he finished with a .240 batting average and .269 on-base percentage. He did add three extra-base hits, but stole just one base while being caught once. Campana could end up being called up down the line, if the team's outfielder injuries persist.

Campana, who was acquired by Arizona in mid-February, is batting .200 (4 for 20) with one double, one triple and two RBI in 13 spring games.

| Campana needs stitches |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (3/7/13) Diamondbacks outfielder Tony Campana was forced to leave Thursdays Cactus League game against the Brewers, with a hand injury that would require eight stitches. Campana suffered he injury while diving into second base trying to steal the bag. He went 1 for 1 in the game before leaving, and there is no timetable for his recovery.

| Campana shipped to Arizona |
by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com (2/18/13) The Cubs traded outfielder Tony Campana to the Diamondbacks on Monday in exchange for a pair of minor-league pitchers. Campana, who appeared in 89 games with Chicago last season, was designated for assignment last Sunday to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. The Cubs acquired right-handed pitchers Erick Leal and Jesus Castillo, who are both just 17 years old and have only played in the Dominican Summer League.

| Tony Campana continued to show blazing speed for the Cubs in 2012, but struggles at the plate hindered his appeal in Fantasy once again. He batted .264 with 30 stolen bases and 26 runs scored in 89 games in the majors but also spent some times in the minors. Campana started just 38 games in Chicago and slugged a porous .299 while getting on base at a .308 clip. The 26-year-old would be an attractive option in Rotisserie formats if he's able to earn more playing time in 2013. But with the Cubs' outfield looking full, a future as a reserve/pinch-runner role once again appears to be in the cards. Leave Campana for deeper NL-only and some Rotisserie formats on Draft Day.
