|Moises Sierra in line to platoon at 1B in 2014 |
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(12/5/13) Blue Jays outfielder Moises Sierra is likely to platoon at first base with Adam Lind next season, MLB.com reports. Sierra has only played the outfield in his career but recent began preparing for the platoon role by taking grounders at first base.
With Sierra out of options, he will likely have to hold his own as a platoon-mate with Lind to save his job in Toronto. He hit .290/.369/.458 in 107 at-bats last season and has hit .267/.327/.478 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 90 at-bats against lefties in his career.

2014 Fantasy Outlooks: Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays were a disaster in 2013, revamping their lineup and rotation only to finish dead last in the AL East. Our Scott White looks for some bright spots in Toronto for Draft Day.
|Moises Sierra got a nice late-season run for the 2013 Blue Jays disaster, hitting .290 with a .369 OBP and 13 doubles in 107 at-bats. Sierra did most of his damage in September, hitting .317 with a .909 OPS and 12 doubles in 25 games. With the Blue Jays outfield packed heading into 2014, it might be tough for Sierra to find a starting role with the team, meaning he could be ticketed for either a bench role or another trip to the minors. If he makes an impression in spring training and forces the issue -- or is sent to a more favorable situation via trade -- Sierra could find his way into a 12 homer/12 steal season. However, for now, he should be left undrafted in most formats.
