(5/15/13) The Pirates recalled infielder Jordy Mercer from Triple-A Indianapolis Wednesday after placing John McDonald (back) on the 15-day disabled list. Mercer hit .258 (8 for 31) with three home runs and four RBI in nine games in his first stint with Pittsburgh this season.

(5/13/13) The Pirates have optioned infielder Jordy Mercer to Triple-A Indianapolis Monday.
The move was expected, as the team needed to make room for second baseman Neil Walker. Mercer played in nine games with the team. He had a .258 average, but managed to slug three home runs in his brief appearance.

(5/12/13) With Neil Walker set to be activated from the 15-day disabled list Monday, Pirates infielder Jordy Mercer is expected to be sent back to Triple-A Indianapolis, according to multiple sources.
Mercer hit .286 with three home runs and four RBI over 28 at-bats with Pittsburgh.

(5/11/13) Pirates infielder Jordy Mercer had his first two home-run game to lead the Pirates to an 11-2 win over the Mets Saturday.
Mercer hit a solo home run in the fifth inning and then followed it up with another solo shot in the eighth, both of them to deep left-center. He finished the game 2 for 5 with two RBI and two runs.
Mercer is hitting .286 with three home runs in eight games since being recalled to replace Neil Walker, who went on the disabled list.

(5/7/13) Pirates infielder Jordy Mercer will start Tuesday's game against the Mariners.
Mercer will play second base and bat seventh in the game. He's expected to be the primary replacement for Neil Walker, who is currently on the 15-day disabled list. In 12 at-bats, Mercer is hitting .250/.250/.583.
