Mets transition Holt to reliever: Mets SP prospect Bradley Holt continues his transition to a relief role after New York pulled him from the Binghamton rotation in late June. Holt went 2-6 with a 5.04 ERA in 13 starts, but he has since gone 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA and .227 opponents' batting average in 6 1/3 innings as a reliever. "It's going to take getting used to," Holt told MLB.com. "I've been a starter my whole life. It's going to take adjustments." Holt is trying not to look as the move to the bullpen as a demotion. "I'm excited about it," Holt said. "It's a chance for a new start." (Updated 07/05/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
It's been an up-and-down career for Holt, who was a supplemental first-round pick in 2008. He made a splash initially as a pro, but then he started to have command issues and it really fell apart in 2010, when he posted a career-worst 8.34 ERA. Holt looked good early on this season, but then he started struggling again. Holt said he usually falls apart late in starts, which is why the Mets think using him in the bullpen will be more effective. The team isn't ruling out a move back to the rotation, but that is why they are testing him out in the bullpen. It's clear, however, that Holt is no longer a viable long-term Fantasy keeper since his pro outlook isn't looking great. (Updated 07/05/2011).
