Reds reconfigure lineup in hopes of breaking losing skid
|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(5/26/15) The Reds have adjusted their starting lineup on Tuesday, trying to break out of a nine-game losing streak. Shortstop Zack Cozart will bat leadoff for just the fifth time this season while first baseman Joey Votto will bat second for the second straight day after batting third for the majority of the season.
Cozart is hitting .218 with 28 doubles in 459 at-bats from the lead off position. Votto is hitting .301 with 31 RBI in 186 at-bats from the two position in the lineup.

|by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com|
|(5/24/15) Reds shortstop Zack Cozart is out of the lineup on Sunday, after nine straight starts at the position.
Cozart is replaced by Kris Negron, who gets his sixth start of the year at short. Negron will bat ninth in the order.
Reds SS Zack Cozart lowered to seventh in Saturday order
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(5/23/15) Reds shortstop Zack Cozart has certainly played a role in his team's recent struggles at the plate. His role has changed for the Saturday game in Cleveland, where he will be bat seventh.
Cozart assumed that spot three times this year. He began the season batting eighth, but was moved up due to a strong start. His current 1-for-20 slide has his average down to .278, its lowest point in six weeks.
Reds move Brandon Phillips to top of order over Zack Cozart
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(5/22/15) Red manager Bryan Price inserted second baseman Brandon Phillips into the leadoff spot for Friday's contest against the Indians. It's the first time since Sept. 25, 2014, he's at the top of the order.
Phillips bumped Zack Cozart to the No. 2 hole against right-hander Carlos Carrasco.
Phillips is hitting .357 (25 for 70) with two homers, 11 RBI and six walks over his last 19 games played. Cozart has just one hit over his last 16 at-bats.
Cincinnati is an underdog (+155) at Cleveland, per VegasInsider.com.
Reds stick with Zack Cozart leading off, Billy Hamilton eighth Sunday
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(5/17/15) Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton is in the starting lineup Sunday against the Giants but not leading off for the first time this season.
Hamilton, who was not in the lineup Saturday, has started 33 of the team's 37 games and led off in every one, but he'll bat ahead of the pitcher Sunday. He's hit .212/.264/.336 with three home runs, six RBI, 22 runs scored and 17 stolen bases in 137 at-bats.
Shortstop Zack Cozart drew his first start in the leadoff role Saturday after three games as the No. 2 hitter, and though he went 0 for 3, he did draw two walks in his team's loss to the Giants. He has hit .310/.364/.543 with six home runs, 17 RBI, 19 runs scored and three stolen bases in 116 at-bats.
The Reds are favorites (-112) against the Giants at home Sunday, per VegasInsider.com.
|2014 summary: Coming into the season, Zack Cozart had already earned the reputation of being an all-glove, no-bat shortstop, but he had just enough pop to merit some consideration for the MI spot in standard mixed Rotisserie leagues. In 2014, that power evaporated, as Cozart produced only four home runs and 18 doubles in 506 at-bats. Cozart did not even crack the top 30 shortstops in Fantasy value.|
Playing time status: Even with Eugenio Suarez waiting in the wings, Cozart's defense should keep him in the Reds' lineup on a steady basis.
2015 outlook: Cozart's power production has fallen in each of the past two seasons, so whatever rebound he might have could be mild. Only NL-only owners need to bother with him.
