Ely trying to get back to majors: Dodger pitcher John Ely wasn't invited to major league spring training this year after he cleared waivers and was outrighted by Los Angeles, but he did provide an extra arm in the bullpen on Tuesday. "I'm a little disappointed," Ely told MLB.com. "I would have liked to be invited to camp. Whatever. I'll just have to work my way back up, that's all. You're only a couple good weeks away from being called up. I'm fine. It's not the end of the world." (Updated 03/06/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Ely spent most of last year at Triple-A Albuquerque with only 12 2/3 innings in the majors. He broke on to the scene for the Dodgers back in 2010 as he posted six quality starts in a row. Right now, Ely has a lot of work to do before he's considered relevant in Fantasy league. He should be ignored in all formats until further notice. (Updated 03/06/2012).
