Angels drop prospect Reckling: Angels pitching prospect Trevor Reckling was released on Friday after he struggled again following a demotion in the minors leagues. Reckling, who pitched at Double-A Arkansas last year, was moved back to Class A Inland Empire this season. The left-hander made four appearances (two starts) and surrendered 19 runs for a woeful 18.90 ERA. (Updated 05/11/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
After dominating the lower levels on the minors, Reckling took several steps backward and ended up back at Class A. However, that could not salvage the 22-year-old, who was considered one of the Angels' top pitching prospects. His strikeout rate also plummeted as he owned a rugged 5-to-15 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 6 2/3 innings. Fantasy owners should not consider him a worthwhile option in any formats for now.
