(6/11/13) The Rockies placed reliever Edgmer Escalona on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with right elbow inflammation. Josh Outman was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs to take his place on the active roster.
It is not clear how long Escalona is expected to be sidelined, as the team has not made details of his MRI public.

(6/9/13) Rockies reliever Edgmer Escalona was forced from Sunday's series finale against the Padres with left triceps soreness.
Escalona surrendered home runs to Cameron Maybin and Mark Kotsay before leaving after 1/3 of an inning in the seventh. He will undergo a precautionary MRI Monday, which the team will reveal to the public Tuesday, according to The Denver Post.

(4/5/13) Rockies pitchers Juan Nicasio and Edgmer Escalona had to be separated during a workout at Coors Field Thursday.
Nicasio and Escalona got into an argument during stretching exercises, but teammates intervened quickly. Closer Rafael Betancourt brought the two together during batting practice to bury the hatchet. Neither player will be disciplined for the incident.

(3/19/13) Rockies relief pitcher Edgmer Escalona returned after a nine-day layoff Tuesday in a Cactus League outing against the Royals. Escalona pitched the seventh inning and earned a hold. He was hurt after taking a comebacker to the head during a simulated game but did not have concussion symptoms.
Escalona went 1-2-3 with a strikeout Tuesday, making his spring ERA 1.50 over six innings with seven Ks. Escalona, on the 40-man roster, is trying to win a bullpen job.

|(3/12/13) Rockies reliever Edgmer Escalona was hit in the head by a comebacker during a simulated game on Monday. The right-hander was able to walk off under his own power and was checked for head trauma by the team's medical staff. The Denver Post reports Escalona suffered a bruised left cheek and is showing no signs of a concussion.
