Rays option Joey Butler to make room for Desmond Jennings

|(8/12/15) The Rays will activate outfielder Desmond Jennings from the disabled list on Friday, the team announced after Wednesday's game.
Jennings has been out since late April due to a knee injury. To make room for Jennings, the Rays sent Joey Butler down to Triple-A. Butler was hitting .278 with six home runs prior to Wednesday’s contest.
Brandon Guyer replaces Kevin Kiermaier in Rays lineup

|(7/11/15) Rays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game, the first time in 12 games Kiermaier hasn't gotten the start.
In his place, Brandon Guyer gets his eighth start fo the season in center and first since June 28.
Guyer had started three of the last four games in right. Joey Butler gets the start in right field in his place. His only other start in right was on July 3.
Rays' Joey Butler gets back into the lineup on Wednesday

|(7/1/15) Joey Butler is back in the lineup for the Rays, as he will be in left field and bat second on Wednesday against the Indians. Butler had been held out of the lineup for the last three games in favor of recent-acquisition Grady Sizemore.
But Butler will be back in there on Wednesday. Prior to the three game absence, Butler had started nine straight, hitting .250 with a pair of home runs in that span.

|(6/29/15) Blue Jays designated hitter Joey Butler is set to sit for the second straight game Monday against Cleveland. Grady Sizemore will again fill that hole after slamming three hits Sunday.
Butler is experiencing his first mini-slump of the season with just one hit in his last 14 at-bats. But that has only served to weaken his slash line to a still-strong .315/.358/.482.

|(6/23/15) Rays outfielder/DH Joey Butler totaled three hits -- all singles -- in five at-bats Monday against the Blue Jays. He struck out twice in his other two at-bats.
Butler has been on a nice run offensively in June. He has a .346/.513/.898 slash line in 20 games. He also has three home runs, four doubles, 11 RBI, nine runs, four walks, 18 strikeouts and five stolen bases in that span.
