Josh Harrison gets another big boost in value
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(8/18/14) For Josh Harrison, everything's coming up Milhouse.

Just a couple weeks after declaring him an everyday player (not that he had been playing any less than every day since mid-May, but the declaration spoke volumes), the Pirates shifted him to shortstop to fill in for the injured Jordy Mercer. After three straight starts there, he's now played the position six times this year, and the CBSSports.com requirement for gaining eligibility in-season is five.

In other words, you can now play Harrison at the weakest position in Fantasy, shortstop. Let's all celebrate and have a good time.

That's in addition to second base, third base and the outfield, for what it's worth, not that you should aim to play him at any of those positions when he's eligible at shortstop. To put it in perspective, he's the No. 4 third baseman in Head-to-Head points leagues since May 18, which is about the he become an every day player. Pretty good, right? Well, he's the No. 1 shortstop during that same period.

Yup.

Josh Harrison suddenly a big deal in Fantasy
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(8/4/14) Though Josh Harrison entered Monday with five home runs in his last eight games, the Pirates' recent decision to make him an everyday player has even bigger ramifications in Fantasy. Granted, the former at least partially led to the latter, but you get the idea: Stats mean little without opportunity.

Of course, the truth is Harrison has been playing every day since about mid-May anyway. His role just wasn't cemented until now. It's also true that his recent power binge probably misrepresents his value to Fantasy owners. What power he has wouldn't translate to much more than 15 homers over a full season.

But that doesn't mean Fantasy owners shouldn't celebrate his promotion. Since that day he assumed regular duty May 18, Harrison has been the eighth-best outfielder, the fourth-best second baseman and the fourth-best third baseman in standard Head-to-Head leagues. Not knowing when he'd wind up back on the bench made it easy to overlook, however.

Now that we have our answer, Harrison deserves to be universally owned, if not universally started. He's basically everything you drafted Martin Prado to be and then some.

Josh Harrison supplants Pedro Alvarez as Pirates' primary 3B
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(8/3/14) Pirates manager Clint Hurdle announced Sunday infielder Josh Harrison has supplanted Pedro Alvarez as the team's primary third baseman.

"Whether (Alvarez) is unplugged or plugged, Harrison is more than a viable option," Hurdle said, per the Pittsburgh-Tribune Review. "Harrison is our best defender on the club right now at third base."

Josh Harrison connects for fifth HR in last seven games
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(8/3/14) Pirates infielder/outfielder Josh Harrison continued his power barrage Saturday at Arizona, homering for the fifth time in seven games. Harrison also extended his hitting streak to seven games with a 3-for-4 performance.

Harrison added three runs, one double and one walk in the 8-3 win. He is batting .452 (14 for 31) with a 1.129 slugging percentage, 1.629 OPS, one triple, four doubles, seven RBI, 11 runs and two stolen bases during his hitting streak.

Josh Harrison homers in fourth straight game Wednesday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(7/30/14) Pirates infielder Josh Harrison kept his home-run streak alive Wednesday, going 1 for 5 with a two-run home run in his team's 7-5 loss to the Giants.

Harrison has hit a home run in four straight games after managing just five homers in his first 87 games. He's 8 for 17 with two walks, six RBI and two stolen bases during his four-game home-run stretch. Harrison has hit .297/.335/.474 with nine home runs, 37 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 293 at-bats.
