Stammen enjoys role with team: Nationals reliever Craig Stammen has been tabbed as the team's long reliever for this year, something he relishes. He struck out the side in the 10th inning of Thursday's game against the Reds, earning his first win of the year, as Washington beat Cincinnati, 3-2. "I think Davey does a good job of handling the bullpen," Stammen told MASNSports.com after the game. "I think me and Tom (Gorzelanny) have a pretty good idea of when we are going to be put in the games. That situation is usually when the long man comes in. Our bullpen is pretty set to where we know what is going to happen. Davey is doing a good job of using us in those situations." (Updated 04/12/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Stammen started his career as a starter, but has been transitioned into a reliever. "I am a relief pitcher, currently," he said. "They can throw me wherever they want and I will do my job. I am in the big leagues so I am enjoying it for sure." Stammen went 10-7 with a 4.75 ERA in 25 appearances (24 starts) for Triple-A Syracuse last season. While he may get a spot start here and there, Stammen doesn't hold a lot of Fantasy value. He can be ignored in all formats at this time. (Updated 04/12/2012).
