Ryan Madson, Franklin Morales, Paulo Orlando make Royals' roster

|(4/5/15) Ryan Madson, Franklin Morales and Paulo Orlando earned the last two spots on the Royals' Opening Day roster.
The RHP Madson was a non-roster invitee who earned a spot with his spring performance. Madson had a 3.00 ERA in nine games, with two saves.
LHP Morales was also a non-roster invitee. He went 2-0 in the spring with a 6.55 ERA.
Orlando, an outfielder, earned the last position player spot.
To set the roster, the Royals sent LHP Brian Flynn to Omaha and placed LHP Tim Collins and RHP Luke Hochevar on the 15-day DL.

|(3/12/15) Royals reliever Tim Collins underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery Wednesday after a second opinion of his injury revealed ligament damage in his elbow, per The Kansas City Star.
Collins made just 22 relief appearances for Kansas City last season while dealing with inflammation in the flexor tendon of his elbow, going 0-3 with a 3.86 ERA. The left-handed hurler is 12-17 with a 3.54 ERA over four MLB seasons.

|(3/11/15) Royals reliever Tim Collins left the team Wednesday to head to Florida and seek a second opinion on his injured elbow from renowned specalist Dr. James Andrews, per MLB.com.
Collins, who is in a fight for one of the team's last bullpen slots, underwent an MRI last week that revealed ligament damage.
"We'll know as soon as today what to do with him," manager Ned Yost said.

"It won't be anytime soon," manager Ned Yost said when asked when Collins might pitch again, per MLB.com.
Collins missed time in 2014 inflammation around the flexor tendon in his elbow. He made just 22 relief appearances for Kansas City, going 0-3 with a 3.86 ERA. The left-handed hurler is 12-17 with a 3.54 ERA over four MLB seasons.
"It's disappointing, but it is what it is," Collins said of the injury. "I'm OK. There's nothing much you can do."
