(11/26/13) The Rockies may consider dealing outfielder Dexter Fowler for Royals relief pitchers, according to the Kansas City Star.
The team is considering Aaron Crow or Tim Collins. Fowler hit .263/.369/.407 in 415 at-bats. Crow had a 3.38 ERA in 48 innings. Collins had a 3.54 ERA in 53 1/3 innings.
|Royals open to trading top relievers |
|by Al Melchior | Data Analyst|
(11/25/13) The Kansas City Star reports that the Royals will listen to trade offers for any of their relievers, including closer Greg Holland. Though the team is reportedly looking for ways to limit their payroll, they are unlikely to trade Holland, but setup men Tim Collins and Aaron Crow are much more readily available.
Collins led the Royals with 21 holds, and he notched a 3.54 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 53 1/3 innings.
Crow, a one-time starting pitching prospect, registered a 3.38 ERA, 19 holds and 44 strikeouts in 48 innings.
|Tim Collins back in Royals bullpen |
|by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com|
(8/3/13) Royals reliever Tim Collins returned to the club Saturday against the Mets after missing Friday's game to attend to his ailing grandfather, the Kansas City Star reports.
Collins has gone 2-5 this season with a 4.30 ERA over 46 appearances with 36 strikeouts over 37 2/3 innings.
|Lack of fastball command hurting Tim Collins |
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
(7/3/13) Royals reliever Tim Collins dropped to 2-3 after taking a relief loss Tuesday against the Indians. It added to his recent run of poor performances, as Collins has a 27.00 ERA and .417 opponents' batting average in his last five outings.
"I can’t say it’s everything because I’m falling behind, and I can’t throw my offspeed (pitches)," Collins said, per The Kansas City Star. "When you’re not throwing strikes with your fastball, they’re not even going to swing at your offspeed (pitches). You can’t even throw it. Right now, it’s just (a lack of) fastball command and getting ahead of hitters."
