Gomez baffles Marlins in win: Indians starting pitcher Jeanmar Gomez had his second shutout outing in a row on Saturday against the Marlins, limiting them to just three hits and two walks in 6 1/3 innings to pick up his third win of the season, 2-0. Gomez allowed just one runner in scoring position in the game in the third inning after a pair of singles, however he quickly erased that threat by getting Marlins third baseman Hanley Ramirez to fly out to right field. Gomez hit one batter in the game as well, while striking out four, and the bullpen closed down the game to move his record on the season to 3-2. (Updated 05/19/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Gomez has allowed just six hits and no runs over his last 13 1/3 innings, both Indians victories. He is posting just a 4.89 K/9 rate on the season, however he is doing a great job limiting home runs, with just two allowed in 42 1/3 innings, on his way to posting a 3.19 ERA on the season. The defense behind him has been solid all season long, which helps for a groundball pitcher like him. He is set to face the White Sox in his next start on Friday during Week 8 (May 21-27), a team he gave up eight runs against in his last start, so he should still be considered an AL-only option despite his recent success.
