| Cristhian Martinez ready for mound work |
by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com (5/5/13) Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Sunday that pitcher Cristhian Martinez is scheduled to continue rehabbing his ailing right shoulder at the team's spring training complex this week, MLB.com reports. Martinez, who was placed on the disabled list April 11 with a strained right shoulder, is expected to work in the bullpen and throw batting practice.

| Cristhian Martinez has no clear timetable |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (5/4/13) Braves relief pitcher Cristhian Martinez, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder sprain, has no timetable for his return, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Martinez has been out since April 12. He allowed two runs and five hits in 2 2/3 innings before getting hurt.

| Shoulder issue sends Cristhian Martinez to DL |
by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com (4/12/13) The Braves placed relief pitcher Cristhian Martinez on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a right shoulder sprain and no clear timetable is set for his return. Martinez was replaced on the active roster by Luis Ayala, who was acquired from Baltimore earlier this week.

| Wirfin Obispo up for Atlanta bullpen spot, too |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (3/26/13) Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said following Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Tigers that Wirfin Obispo is a candidate for one of the last remaining bullpen spots, reports MLB.com.
Obispo went an inning against the Tigers Tuesday and struck out two with a hit. The 28-year-old has not allowed a run this spring over five innings with seven Ks. He joins Cristhian Martinez and Anthony Varvaro as possibilities for the last remaining bullpen spot.

| Braves looking to finalize bullpen spots |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (3/26/13) Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez continues to insist that Jordan Walden, who missed a month of the Grapefruit season due to a bulging disk in his back, will be in the bullpen on opening day against Philadelphia.
Should that actually come to pass, one but not both of Anthony Varvaro and Cristhian Martinez can make the team. Both would make it with Walden on the shelf. Atlanta could look into trading one of the relievers if Walden is definitely healthy, reports MLB.com, as both relievers are out of options and would have to pass through waivers to remain with the organization if sent down.
Martinez could have the advantage in remaining with the Braves as he has proven his ability to work in multiple different roles over the last two years. Varvaro, however, has had an excellent spring up until Monday's outing.
