Fantasy Analysis
The PCL has not been very kind to Montgomery. He is 6-11 with a 5.28 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 31 outings (30 starts) at Triple-A. Montgomery's ERA and WHIP has gotten higher the further he's gone up with the organizational ladder, which isn't encouraging. Yet, he's still considered the Royals' top pitching prospect by Baseball America. Montgomery can really dominant hitters when he's on top of his game, but he has experienced command issues the last year, which is keeping him from the majors. There's still the chance he debuts in 2012, but Montgomery has more value in long-term keeper formats at this time. (Updated 04/23/2012).
