| Orioles hope Ryan Flaherty will rebound at Triple-A |
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (5/19/13) Orioles manager Buck Showalter told The Baltimore Sun that he hopes infielder Ryan Flaherty can "get his legs back under him" while at Triple-A Norfolk.
Flaherty was optioned to Norfolk Saturday after hitting just .133/.228/.233 in 30 games to start the season.
"Last year, he was a Rule 5 guy and the circumstances were different," Showalter said. "We got him through the year and he was contributor from last year, and I think [he] will be again. But he needs to go get his legs back under him, offensively, his confidence, everything."

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com (5/18/13) The Orioles announced after Saturday's game that infielder Ryan Flaherty has been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk. He entered Saturday's game as a defensive replacement at second base.
Flaherty hit .133/.228/.233 with two home runs in 102 plate appearances with the Orioles. A corresponding roster move will be announced Sunday.

| Ryan Flaherty hits opposite-field homer |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/14/13) Orioles second baseman Ryan Flaherty hit his second home run of the season Tuesday night during a loss to the Padres. Flaherty drove in the only Baltimore run over the first seven innings with his opposite-field shot.
Flaherty went 1 for 2 with a walk in the performance but is batting just .140. Trying to get his bat going, Flaherty has hit in three straight games and is 3 for 7 over that stretch with two walks.

| Ryan Flaherty frustrated by slump |
by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com (5/10/13) Nestled in Orioles second baseman Ryan Flaherty's extended slump, since the beginning of May, is his current five-game stretch with at least one strikeout, which has contributed to a meager .115 batting average this month.
Flaherty is just 3 for 23 in the first eight games of May and finished just 1 for 10 during the recently concluded three-game set against the Royals.
"Everything's frustrating," said Flaherty, who was called out on strikes in the sixth inning during Thursday's outing on a controversial call with a runner on second base. "You want to help your team win. That’s the bottom line. However it is, offense, defense, base running."

| Ryan Flaherty smacks RBI double |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (4/24/13) Orioles second baseman Ryan Flaherty came up with a big hit on Wednesday during an extra-inning loss at home to the Blue Jays. He went 1 for 4 in the game and is now batting .100 on the season.
Flaherty doubled to deep right field in the gap in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Nolan Reimold and make the score 5-3. Baltimore scored twice more in the inning to force extra frames.
Flaherty, who added a sacrifice in the game, scored and now has three RBI on the year. Splitting playing time with Alexi Casilla until Brian Roberts can return, Flaherty has started the year just 4 for 40 with two extra-base hits and 13 strikeouts.
