| Royals re-assign Atahualpa Severino to minor-league camp |

(3/27/13) The Royals announced Wednesday that LHP Atahualpa Severino has been re-assigned to minor-league camp. Severino made five spring appearances for the Royals, allowing two earned runs in four innings while striking out two batters. He spent all of 2012 with Washington's Triple-A affiliate, posting a 2.81 ERA in 48 innings, but he walked 36 batters.

(8/12/12) The Nationals sent reliever Atahualpa Severino outright to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday. Severino cleared waivers after being designated for assignment Monday.

Braves help playoff chances, tag Strasburg early
Dan Uggla and the Braves knocked around Stephen Strasburg a bit in a three-run first inning, and Atlanta helped its bid for a playoff berth by beating the Washington Nationals 7-4 Friday night.
