| Nevarez hoping to get in some work |
| (3/11/10) MLB.com reports that Astros RP Matt Nevarez has been dealing with some shoulder soreness and has not pitched in a Grapefruit League game thus far. He has been throwing in the bullpen and hopes to play in a game within the next two weeks. "He's a young, big arm with closer experience," Astros general manager Ed Wade said of Nevarez. "He's not going to make this club out of spring training, one would suspect, so there's no reason to push it at this point. This is good experience for him to get in here and see what this is all about, and take a look around and see the level of competition that exists and evaluate where he fits into it." |
