Orioles' Lough disappointed hamstring injury will force him to DL
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(3/31/15) Orioles outfielder David Lough is no longer dealing with back discomfort, but he admitted Tuesday a left hamstring injury will prevent him from making the Opening Day roster.
"My hamstring was sore a couple weeks ago and then we think it went to my back and SI joint (sacroiliac joint)," he said, per MASNsports.com. "It's just getting back to where I was at the beginning of spring training. We thought the best approach to getting back healthy was to take some time off and get right.
"Your body works together and when you get a hamstring injury it can stem up to your back. I was bending down to get a ball and my SI joint gave out. I had some back spasms. We think those two were related in the injury. At that point my hamstring wasn't 100 percent. Now my back is completely fine, it's just taking care of my hamstring and getting healthy."
Lough won't be eligible to return from the disabled list until April 11.
"It's not much time that I'd miss, but I do need to catch up on my at-bats with the rest of the guys," he said. "I don't know my schedule or anything like that so far, so we're just taking it day to day and trying to get healthy."
David Lough may be headed to Orioles' DL

|(3/29/15) Orioles outfielder David Lough won't start on Monday, as originally planned, and he may be headed for the disabled list.
Lough hasn't played in the last week, due to back spasms. A hamstring injury is now keeping him out of the lineup.
Manager Buck Showalter believes the two injuries are related and was doubtful that Lough would be back by Opening Day, per MASN Sports.
"Still don't like where the hamstring is," Showalter said. "It's beginning to look like (the DL) more than it did. I was hoping we'd get him out there playing today or tomorrow and not have a problem."

|(3/26/15) Orioles outfielder David Lough, who was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with back spasms, could be cleared for baseball activities as early as Friday, according to MASN Sports. Lough told reporters that he's feeling better, and can even put on his socks without any discomfort.
"It's a lot better than when it first happened," Lough said.
Lough is 5 for 27 (.185) this spring.
Orioles' Lough not expecting back injury to sideline him for long
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(3/25/15) Orioles outfielder David Lough said Wednesday he is targeting a return to the lineup within the next few days after being scratched from Tuesday's spring game due to back spasms, per MASNsports.com.
"I was in the batting cages picking up balls," he said. "I picked up a ball and my lower back started spasming on me and I could barely walk yesterday. I talked to the trainers. They kind of shut me down yesterday and I feel a lot better today.
"Hopefully, I'll be back tomorrow, maybe a couple days, whenever they feel like it's best for me to get back on the field."
Lough, who hit .351 in the second half last season, is batting just .185 (5 for 27) this spring as he competes for a spot on the Orioles' bench.
"After that day off (Monday), I was eager to come back and play in the game and get into the groove of things," he said. "It's one of those things that just happens. You can't really control it. So, it's just about getting back healthy and getting back to the field.
"I've never really had a back issue before, so I don't know what's stemming from it. Just trying to figure things out. I'm a man that tries to do that with my body and stuff. So, I'll get it right and be back soon."
