Takahashi not fooling hitters: Angels reliever Hisanori Takahashi is getting hit hard to begin the 2012 season. Takahashi has allowed at least one hit in his last four outings and was tagged for three runs in two innings during his last outing Sunday against the Yankees. Takahashi is 0-1 with a 10.38 ERA, 2.31 WHIP, one hold and one blown save in five outings (4 1/3 innings). (Updated 04/17/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
This has to be tough for the Angels to watch since Takahashi is one of their most versatile relievers. He pitches in all situations for the Angels and could even be pressed into a spot start if needed. But if Takahashi continues to get lit up, then he's not going to be of much help to Fantasy owners. He's a risky option right now. (Updated 04/17/2012).
04/15/2012 23:53 Jeter stays hot as Yanks thump Halos
Derek Jeter hit a three-run homer to extend his fast start and Ivan Nova won his 14th straight decision, leading the New York Yankees to an 11-5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday night.
04/11/2012 23:10 Twins rally past Angels for first win
Jamey Carroll had his first two hits with Minnesota, including the go-ahead single in the seventh, and Josh Willingham hit a two-run homer to lift the Twins to their first victory of the season, 6-5 over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night.
Hisanori Takahashi was used mainly as a middle reliever for the Angels last season but was still able to put up some decent numbers after catching the eyes of Fantasy owners in 2010. He went 4-3 with a 3.44 ERA in 61 appearances, including going 2 for 5 in save chances. He made some starts for the Mets during his rookie campaign but the Angels used him as solely a reliever in 2011. The left-hander is very versatile, as he can get both lefties and righties out, but since Jordan Walden and LaTroy Hawkins stand in his way for save chances, the 36-year-old will not have much value in 2012. Leave Takahashi for those formats that use middle men on Draft Day. (Updated 1/11/12)
