| David Adams sent to Triple-A |
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com (6/14/13) The Yankees have optioned third baseman David Adams to Triple-A Scanton/Wilkes-Barre.
Adams was only hitting .217/.239/.348 after getting off to a strong start with the club. Adams had not played in a game since June 8.

| Versatility saves David Adams from demotion |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (6/4/13) Yankees manager Joe Girardi said the team chose to keep David Adams on the roster instead of sending him back to the minors Monday because of his versatility, according to the New York Post.
"I think with [Kevin Youkilis’ back injury] and wanting to give [Robinson Cano] possibly a day off or a DH day … we like having the extra infielder," Girardi said.
Adams hit .300 in his first 10 games, but he's mired in a 3-for-22 slump in his last seven games, which has dropped his average to .242.

| David Adams swats first career home run |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (5/20/13) Yankees third baseman David Adams hit his first major-league home run in the second inning of Monday's game in Baltimore.
Adams took Freddy Garcia deep and it put the Yankees up 2-0 at the time.
Adams entered Monday's game having gone 4 for 14 to start his big-league career.

| Consider David Adams |
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (5/15/13) The Yankees might consider using recently-recalled infielder David Adams at third base until Kevin Youkilis returns from the disabled list, and that might be enough for Fantasy owners in AL-only formats to give him a look.
Adams does not have great power or speed, with 26 home runs and 29 at bats in 380 at-bats the minor-league level, but he should be able to hold his own at the plate. Adams seems like a gap hitter, though he did hit eight home runs in just 86 games at Double-A Trenton last season, so there is some potential upside there.
Adams is a career. 290 hitter, who was batting .316 at Triple-A before the call-up. The team has yet to determine a timeline for Youkilis' return to the field, so Adams might be worth a pickup off the waiver wire at least until Youkilis can get off the disabled list.

| Yankees recall David Adams |
by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com (5/15/13) The Yankees have recalled infielder David Adams, the club announced Wednesday.
Adams hit .316/.407/.490 in 27 games for Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre. The 26-year-old would have been up earlier, but the Yankees released him and then re-signed him this offseason in order to open up a 40-man roster spot, and as such league rules dictated he couldn't be added to the roster until May 15. Adams replaces Chris Nelson on the Yankees' roster and could be the primary third baseman until Kevin Youkilis returns from the disabled list.

End of an era in baseball in sight as Yankees' losing streak continues
