(5/16/13) Pirates infielder Chase d'Arnaud began his rehab assignment at Class A Advanced Bradenton Thursday by going 0 for 3 at the plate. D'Arnaud is on the 60-day disabled list recovering from thumb surgery.

(3/20/13) Pirates infielder Chase d'Arnaud had surgery to repair a partially torn ligament in his left thumb Monday and will miss 5-8 weeks, MLB.com reported. He was placed on the 60-day DL on Wednesday.
"I kind of knew when I went [to the clinic] that I was going to have the surgery. It really [stinks]. I worked hard this offseason, so the timing of this is really annoying," d'Arnaud told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

(3/14/13) The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Pirates infielder Chase d'Arnaud might need surgery after an MRI revealed a partially torn ligament in his left thumb. He will leave camp Sunday to be examined by a specialist. Surgery would sideline him 3-4 months.
"I didn't think (the injury) was that bad," d'Arnaud said. "It felt like any other sprained finger. When they told me the MRI results, I was shocked."

(9/10/12) The Pirates recalled another group of players from Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday and promoted shortstop Chase d'Arnaud and relief pitcher Bryan Morris. The two are expected to be available for Monday's game against the Reds.
