| Nate Freiman records pair of hits against Texas |
by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com (5/15/13) Athletics first baseman Nate Freiman went 2 for 3 in Tuesday's loss to Texas.
Freiman doubled, scored a run and knocked in a run. Freiman continues to play sparingly, and even with Tuesday's game his .239/.321/.370 line is hardly busting down any doors.

| Nate Freiman's done 'beautifully' acclimating to role |
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (5/9/13) Athletics manager Bob Melvin made sure to get first baseman Nate Freiman into the lineup Thursday against the Indians because left-handed pitcher Scott Kazmir was on the mound.
Freiman has done most of his damage against left-handed pitchers, batting .375 (9 for 24) with one home run, two doubles and six RBI in 13 games.
"He's a right-handed bat at first base, and a power bat, and really has done a great job for us in the time that he's been in there," Melvin said, per MLB.com. "It can be difficult for younger players to have to acclimate to a role where they're not playing every day, but he's done it beautifully. He works very hard to keep himself ready, and gets the brunt of the time at first base against left-handed pitching."

| Nate Freiman starting in home town |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (4/22/13) Athletics first baseman Nate Freiman was given a start as designated hitter Monday night in Boston. A Boston native, manager Bob Melvin wanted to get Freiman in there, MLB.com reports.
"He knew about it last night," Melvin said. "Hopefully he slept ... It will be a special night."
Freiman, who had not started since April 15 against Houston, has gone 3 for 18 (.167) over nine games. He's homered once with five RBI and five strikeouts.

| Nate Freiman swats first big league homer |
by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com (4/15/13) The Athletics gave Nate Freiman a start as the designated hitter Monday night at home against Houston. Freiman came over to the A's from the Astros as a Rule 5 player and must remain on the roster all year or be offered back.
He gave both teams a reason to want him Monday. Freiman hit his first major league home run in the first inning. He took Erik Bedard deep for a three-run blast to put the A's up 6-0.
Freiman entered the game having gone 2 for 13 to begin his career with two singles and two RBI. The 26-year-old got both of those hits in his season debut against Seattle April 3.

| Nate Freiman collects two hits in debut |
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com (4/4/13) Athletics first baseman Nate Freiman made his regular-season debut Wednesday against the Mariners, recording two singles and driving in one run in three plate appearances. A Rule V pick claimed off waivers by the A's this spring, Freiman spent 2012 with the Rangers' Double-A affiliate in San Antonio.
Freiman drew the start with lefty Joe Saunders on the mound for the Mariners, and he could continue to see regular playing time against lefties this season.
