Tigers scouting Oliver for possible start: Tigers starter Doug Fister had to be placed on the disabled list on Saturday after his start against the Red Sox due to a left costochondral strain and Detroit manager Jim Leyland needs to find a replacement to take the hill on Friday at the White Sox. Duane Below is one in-house candidate but the Tigers are also going to look at Casey Crosby and Andrew Oliver in the minors, reports MLive.com Sunday. Oliver will pitch for Triple-A Toledo on Sunday and Crosby on Monday. The Tigers will send scouts to watch them. "I have a guy looking at Oliver tonight and Ill look at Crosby myself tomorrow, but theres no information," Leyland said. "I have no idea. None." (Updated 04/08/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
The 24-year-old Oliver went 0-1 with a 6.52 ERA over two starts for the Tigers last year and is 0-5 with a 7.11 ERA over seven major league starts in his career. Oliver was once a top pitching prospect, but he has never done well at the major league level. If he's called upon for a couple spot starts, Oliver would only have AL-only Fantasy value.
