|A.J. Pollock homers, drives in four runs Friday |
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(9/13/14) Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock led the offense Friday, going 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBI in his team's 6-5 loss to the Padres.
Pollock singled home the first run of the game in the first inning, but the Padres scored six unanswered runs through the top of the fifth. After the team added a run in the bottom of the fifth, Pollock smashed a three-run home run to bring the score to within one, which is where it would settle. It was his first home run since returning from his extended injury absence, but he's nonetheless performed well this month, going 10 for 27 with three stolen bases in eight games.

(9/2/14) The Diamondbacks activated infielder Chris Owings (shoulder) and outfielder A.J. Pollock (hand) from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, the team announced.
Owings has been out since late June due to his injury, while Pollock's has kept him out since late May.

(8/29/14) The Diamondbacks are set to bring back some of their injured players once rosters expand, according to FoxSports.
Outfielder A.J. Pollock, shortstop Chris Owings and starter Daniel Hudson should be back with the team September 1. Pollock has been out since late May with a hand issue. Owings has been dealing with a should injury. Hudson is coming back following Tommy John surgery.
|A.J. Pollock was on track to open the 2013 season in the minors until center fielder Adam Eaton suffered a sprained elbow late in spring training, which opened up regular playing time for the budding outfield prospect. Pollock got off to a promising start, batting .309 through 16 games, which included a two-homer game April 10. Unfortunately, he couldn't sustain and would lose his regular playing time. Pollock finished with a .269 average, .322 on-base percentage, .409 slugging percentage and .730 OPS in 137 games. He totaled five triples, eight home runs, 28 doubles, 38 RBI, 64 runs and 12 stolen bases. Pollock's strengths in the minors were hitting for average, getting on base, scoring runs and posting moderate stolen-base numbers. He is strong enough defensively to earn regular playing time, but he's not expected to be a standout for Fantasy owners. Pollock might open the season as a fourth outfielder, so consider him an NL-only Fantasy option.
