A.J. Pollock in, Nick Ahmed out of leadoff spot for Diamondbacks
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
|(6/29/15) Perhaps the experiment of Diamondbacks shortstop Nick Ahmed batting leadoff is over. He was placed into that role for three of the last four games, but finds himself back in the eighth spot Monday night against the Dodgers.
Ahmed hasn't thrived at the top of the order. He was 2-for-11 batting leadoff with just one run scored.
A.J. Pollock is back in the leadoff spot, where he was positioned for the eight games prior to Ahmed taking over. He is hitless in his last eight at-bats.

D-Backs OF A.J. Pollock continues hot streak with eighth HR

|(6/11/15) Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock totaled three hits, including his eighth home run, during a 7-6 loss Wednesday against the Dodgers. He also had two runs and two strikeouts.
Pollock tied the game at six in the top of the ninth inning, as he hit a leadoff home run off of Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen. Five of his home runs this season have been solo shots.
Since May 19, Pollock is batting .398 (35 for 88) with a .442 on-base percentage, .705 slugging percentage and 1.147 OPS in his last 22 games. He has two triples, eight doubles, five home runs, 15 RBI, 20 runs and eight stolen bases in that span.
Diamondbacks center fielder A.J. Pollock gets a rest Tuesday

|(6/9/15) Diamondbacks center fielder A.J. Pollock is out of the lineup for Tuesday's action against the Dodgers. The hot-hitting Pollock had started each of the last 13 games in center field. He's hitting .351 (20 for 51) with six doubles, a triple and three home runs in those 13 games.
Ender Inciarte will man center field while David Peralta handles left field on Tuesday.
Diamondbacks' A.J. Pollock collects two RBI in Monday's loss

|(6/9/15) Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock drove in two runs to lead the team, but it was not enough as the Diamondbacks fell 9-3 to the Dodgers on Monday.
Pollock went 1 for 4 during the game. He drove in two runs when he hit a double off Mike Bolsinger in the sixth inning. Over his last 13 games, Pollock is 20 for 57 with three home runs and 11 RBI.
|2014 summary: In his third season, Pollock batted a career-high .302 while upping both his power and speed games. In an injury-shortened campaign that limited him to 75 games, A.J. Pollock hit seven homers, 19 doubles and six triples while nabbing 14 bases in 17 tries. Even though he missed more than half the season, Pollock finished as the 82nd-ranked outfielder in standard Rotisserie value, and he ranked 23rd in Fantasy points per game (2.91). However, after a three-month absence resulting from his right hand being broken by a Johnny Cueto pitch, Pollock's power production lagged.|
Playing time status: With his solid play, both at the plate and in center field, Pollock likely cemented his place as an everyday player for the Diamondbacks in 2015. Ender Inciarte played well in Pollock's absence, but he should not cut into Pollock's playing time much during the coming season.
2015 outlook: Even 15-plus home run power is not a given for Pollock, but he has enough batting average and stolen base potential to be worth drafting with a mid-round pick in standard mixed Roto leagues. However, Pollock is more of a late-round flier in three-outfielder points leagues.
