A.J. Pollock homers, drives in four runs Friday
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(9/13/14) Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock led the offense Friday, going 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBI in his team's 6-5 loss to the Padres.
Pollock singled home the first run of the game in the first inning, but the Padres scored six unanswered runs through the top of the fifth. After the team added a run in the bottom of the fifth, Pollock smashed a three-run home run to bring the score to within one, which is where it would settle. It was his first home run since returning from his extended injury absence, but he's nonetheless performed well this month, going 10 for 27 with three stolen bases in eight games.

|(9/9/14) Diamondbacks outfielder A.J. Pollock is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.
Pollock is 5 for 13 since returning from a lengthy stay on the disabled list, but he hasn't played over the last few days while dealing with a sore groin. He has hit .321/.368/.547 with six home runs, 16 RBI and nine stolen bases in 190 at-bats.

|(9/8/14) Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson hopes outfielder A.J. Pollock will be able to return to the starting lineup Tuesday at San Francisco, according to The Arizona Republic. Pollock, who only recently returned from a three-month absence for a broken hand, has missed the last two games with a sore groin.

|(9/2/14) The Diamondbacks activated infielder Chris Owings (shoulder) and outfielder A.J. Pollock (hand) from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, the team announced.
Owings has been out since late June due to his injury, while Pollock's has kept him out since late May.
Trio of Diamondbacks coming back September 1
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
|(8/29/14) The Diamondbacks are set to bring back some of their injured players once rosters expand, according to FoxSports.
Outfielder A.J. Pollock, shortstop Chris Owings and starter Daniel Hudson should be back with the team September 1. Pollock has been out since late May with a hand issue. Owings has been dealing with a should injury. Hudson is coming back following Tommy John surgery.
|2014 summary: In his third season, Pollock batted a career-high .302 while upping both his power and speed games. In an injury-shortened campaign that limited him to 75 games, A.J. Pollock hit seven homers, 19 doubles and six triples while nabbing 14 bases in 17 tries. Even though he missed more than half the season, Pollock finished as the 82nd-ranked outfielder in standard Rotisserie value, and he ranked 23rd in Fantasy points per game (2.91). However, after a three-month absence resulting from his right hand being broken by a Johnny Cueto pitch, Pollock's power production lagged.|
Playing time status: With his solid play, both at the plate and in center field, Pollock likely cemented his place as an everyday player for the Diamondbacks in 2015. Ender Inciarte played well in Pollock's absence, but he should not cut into Pollock's playing time much during the coming season.
2015 outlook: Even 15-plus home run power is not a given for Pollock, but he has enough batting average and stolen base potential to be worth drafting with a mid-round pick in standard mixed Roto leagues. However, Pollock is more of a late-round flier in three-outfielder points leagues.
