Stinson to see more save opportunities?: ESPN reports that Mets manager Terry Collins was non-committal to closer Bobby Parnell following his second blown save in a week on Tuesday night in Florida. Asked if it might be beneficial for Parnell to get some non-save opportunities in order to right himself with the game not on the line, Collins indicated some agreement. Well, were going to talk to Bobby tomorrow, Collins said. Collins said he didnt know immediately after Tuesdays game whether he would use Josh Stinson, Manny Acosta, Pedro Beato or Jason Isringhausen in save situations if he did spread around the opportunities. Fantasy Analysis
Parnells blown save allowed Stinson the opportunity to earn his first major league save with a flawless 12th inning Tuesday. He might be the top candidate for save opportunities over the final weeks of the season, though the unsettled situation and the likelihood that Parnell would still be used for at least some save chances caps Stinson's potential appeal. Still, even a sniff of save opportunities might make him worthy of a look in deeper formats. We'll continue to update you on this situation as it develops. (Updated 09/07/2011).
