| Vasquez undergoes brain surgery |

(11/20/12) Mariners pitching prospect Anthony Vasquez had emergency brain surgery last Friday, and MLB.com reports that he was discharged from the hospital Monday. Vasquez had experienced headaches, dizziness and vision problems while at the Mariners' training complex in Peoria, Ariz., and upon examination, doctors discovered a brain lesion. Once in surgery, doctors also found a life-threatening ruptured arteriovenous malformation (AVM). However, Vasquez has not only been discharged, but he could be ready to pitch again by the spring.

Rangers outlast M's, clinch back-to-back AL West titles
Josh Hamilton and Adrian Beltre hit long home runs and Craig Gentry had an inside-the-park homer for AL West-leading Texas in a 5-3 victory over Seattle on Friday night that cut the Rangers' magic number to one.

Rangers outslug Mariners to extend AL West lead
Josh Hamilton had four hits, including a homer, and drove in three runs to help the Texas Rangers outslug the Seattle Mariners 7-6 on Saturday night, extending their division lead over the Angels in the AL West.
