Borchering moves to the outfield: The Arizona Republic reports that Diamondbacks prospect Bobby Borchering will be shifting his position from third base to left field. He is moving from the hot corner to clear the way for fellow prospect Matt Davidson, who split time with Borchering at third base as well as at first base in Advanced Class A ball. I think it just gives me more gifts as a player if I can play more positions, Borchering said. Theres definitely more opportunities for me to hopefully move up the ladder. Its something Im excited about. The 20-year-old hit .267 with 24 home runs and 92 RBI at Visalia this season. (Updated 10/12/2011)

Fantasy Analysis
Borchering has shown good power in the minors so far, but that will matter less, now that he is being groomed as an outfielder. He has also had issues with making contact, so owners in deep keeper leagues may need to reconsider if they want to hold on to Borchering, if they have other prospects in need of a protection slot.
