Valdespin cycles back to Mets: The New York Mets recalled second baseman Jordany Valdespin from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday to take the roster spot of Ruben Tejada (quad), who was placed on the 15-day disabled list. Valdespin blasted the game-winning three-run home run during Tuesday night's contest against the Phillies. "It was a great moment for me," said Valdespin, who was called up to replace injured shortstop Ruben Tejada. "He's one of the best closers in the big leagues. They called me last night and told me to be ready." (Updated 05/07/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Valdespin appeared in seven games for the Mets, but received only one start. He could see some additional time at shortstop until Ronny Cedeno is activated from the disabled list. However, he is still not expected to make a major Fantasy contribution and should be left ignored. (Updated 05/07/2012).
