Heathcott won't need surgery: Yankees OF prospect Slade Heathcott will not require left shoulder surgery, reports the New York Post on Wednesday. The Yankees' first-round pick in the 2009 draft was prescribed with rest and exercise to get over his ailment and that will mean a possible return this season. This is definitely good news for Heathcott as he's not going to require season-ending surgery. He was just promoted to High Class A Tampa before getting injured, though he's going to almost have to start from scratch when he gets back. He was batting .271 with four home runs and 16 RBI for Class A Charleston before getting hurt. At this time, he only has long-term keeper Fantasy value. (Updated 07/14/2011).
