Yankees ink Corey Patterson to minor deal

|(6/21/13) The Yankees signed outfielder Corey Patterson to a minor-league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Friday.
Patterson batted just .175 for Triple-A Tacoma before the Mariners released him earlier this month.

Patterson signed with the club in late April, but didn't show enough to stick around. He was hitting just .175 in Triple-A Tacoma. Patterson had already been released by the Mets early in the year. He hasn't played in the majors since 2011.

|(4/30/13) The Mariners signed outfielder Corey Patterson to a minor-league contract Tuesday, MLB.com reports. Patterson is expected to go to extended spring training and then head to Triple-A Tacoma when he's ready.
The 33-year-old Patterson last played in the majors in 2011 with Toronto and St. Louis. He's a career .252 hitter over parts of 12 seasons.

|(3/30/13) The Mets have released outfielder Corey Patterson, according to ESPNNewYork.com. He hit a triple in his two plate appearances in Grapefruit League action this spring.
A 12-year veteran who has played for seven major-league teams, Patterson hit .251/.285/.410 in 387 plate appearances with the Brewers' Triple-A affiliate in 2012.
