(5/15/13) White Sox outfielder Dewayne Wise went 0 for 5 from the top spot in the order on Wednesday during a win at Minnesota. Wise's average fell to .250.
The 35-year-old, who has started in back-to-back games, has just 14 hits this season over 56 at-bats as a part-time player. He's struck out 12 times.

(5/4/13) White Sox outfielder Dewayne Wise returned to the lineup Saturday against the Royals after missing the previous contest due to a neck injury. He went 0 for 3 in a 2-0 loss.
Wise is batting .188 with one homer and three RBI.

(5/4/13) White Sox outfielder Dewayne Wise was over his neck issue enough to start Saturday at Kansas City. Wise was a late scratch Thursday and Friday's game was rained out.
Wise, who returned to the lineup in center field batted ninth, is hitting .207.

(5/2/13) White Sox outfielder Dewayne Wise was a late scratch from Thursday's game against the Rangers due to a stiff neck. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Wise has been dealing with this injury since the spring.
He was expected to start in center field in the game, but was replaced by Casper Wells.

(5/1/13) White Sox outfielder Dewayne Wise became the first player to homer off Yu Darvish this season Tuesday against the Rangers.
Wise, who made a spot start for Jordan Danks, had a two-run homer off Darvish in the sixth inning -- his first of the season. Danks snapped an 0-for-15 funk as he finished 4 for 4 with a run scored and two RBI in a 10-6 loss.
Wise is hitting .231 with a home run and four RBI in 26 at-bats.

| When DeWayne Wise plays, he produces decent stats. In 2012, he set a career-high in at-bats and responded with eight home runs in 224 at-bats, along with 19 steals and a .259 average. At 35, Wise will have an uphill battle to find playing time with the White Sox this season, but he should be first in line -- ahead of Jordan Danks -- for at-bats. Deep Al-only leaguers may want to consider Wise for a bench spot, but he can be left undrafted in most formats. (Updated 1/8/13) |
